The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System Libraries and the Alachua County Library District is offering the “Breast Cancer: Knowledge is Power” lecture in support of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The lecture will cover breast self-awareness, ways to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer via nutrition and lifestyle changes, discuss ways to support loved ones with breast cancer, educate women and men on diagnosis and treatment options, and increase knowledge on breast self-awareness. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions. The lecture is free to the public.
The speaker is Lynn Chacko, MD. Dr. Chacko received her MD from the University of Florida, College of Medicine (2004), is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine, and since 2015 is the Women’s Health Medical Director for the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System.
