Come get a dose of cuteness provided by Gracie, the Clydesdale animal assisted therapy horse, and her owner from the UF College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2021.
Therapy horses can help improve anxiety, reduce depression, build self-confidence, make us healthier, and so much more.
Come join us at the Library Partnership, Monday, January 7th, at 3:30 pm to meet Gracie the Clydesdale therapy horse!
Gracie is one of only 5,000 Clydesdales worldwide. She weighs in at a hefty 1400 lbs and is 6 years old. As a therapy horse, Gracie travels all over Florida visiting libraries, assisted living facilities, schools, and hospitals. She has visited over 1200 people!
When you visit her, you will be permitted to pet her and give her as much love and attention as you desire. She also loves to pose for the camera. Participants are also allowed to bring carrots, apples, or mints to feed to her. ALL ages are welcome and encouraged. We ask that you abide by any instructions given to you by Gracie’s handler, Kim Fiore.
We hope to see you there!
The Library Partnership: A Neighborhood Resource Center, is a collaborative effort between the Alachua County Library District, Partnership for Strong Families, Department of Children and Families, and United Way of Central Florida. The center is designed as a one-stop resource for a variety of programs which included a full-service library branch. Approximately 30 different agencies provide programing on site.
