Join us at the Millhopper Branch Library, as curators' take you on a virtual visit to the exhibit, "Show Me the Mini," currently on display at the Harn Museum of Art.
Monumental works overshadow miniature artworks on display in museums. While larger works are public and pronounced, miniatures are personal and intimate, requiring a different kind of attention. Show Me the Mini, http://www.harn.ufl.edu/showmethemini, highlights an overlooked theme in the study of Asian art and presents a unique opportunity to remind us that art comes in all shapes and sizes.
The exhibition illuminates human curiosity about perspective, size, scale, and creation, and challenges us to think how we, as audiences, consume art. Curators Jason Steuber (Cofrin Curator of Asian Art) and Allysa B. Peyton (Assistant Curator of Art) from the Harn Museum of Art will lead a virtual visit to the exhibition and explore traditional thematic groupings of miniatures.
