Come learn about butterflies and have the chance to spread and pin your own butterfly to take home provided by the Florida Museum of Natural History.
The Millhopper Branch has partnered with the Florida Museum of Natural History to introduce you to the importance of butterflies and provide you with an opportunity to pin and take home your own butterfly. A representative from the Florida Museum of Natural History will be coming to the Millhopper Branch and will introduce the research they do as well as the importance of butterflies, and insects in general, to the ecosystem. In the second half of the program you will be given step-by-step instructions on how to properly spread and pin your very own butterfly, provided by the museum. The library will then hold the spread butterflies for a week while they dry. After that you will be able to come pick up your display box with your pinned butterfly to take home. All materials provided. Registration is required.
