Local author Karen White Porter will be presenting a puppet show featuring The Feeling Friends, characters from her "I Feel . . . When . . ." book series.
Karen White Porter is the award-winning author of several children's books, including the "I Feel . . . When . . ." series. On Wednesday, November 6th, at 11 AM, she will be visiting the Newberry Branch Library with her mobile theater to put on a puppet show featuring her Feeling Friends Puppets. This interactive program will combine entertainment with education and encourage children to make positive choices when experiencing different feelings.
Before the show, Karen will do a live reading of one of her books, I Feel Embarrassed When I Cannot Jump. The puppet show will then enact the story of one of her other books, recent award-winner I Feel Afraid When I See a Spider. After the show, Karen will facilitate an easy puppet-making craft for the children in the audience and share with parents and caregivers about the online literacy resources that she has developed.
