ACLD staff lead a discussion about Zora Neale Hurston's classic novel, "Their Eyes Were Watching God."
The University of Florida is partnering with the Alachua County Library District and local community organizations to celebrate Zora Neale Hurston and her novel "Their Eyes Were Watching God." This program is a part of the Alachua County Big Read, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read grant. Alachua County Big Read programs aim to use Hurston's novel as a lens through which to explore the intersections of environment, people, and history in Alachua County and the surrounding area. We will explore the novel, its themes, and how they relate to this year's topic of "where we live."
The Headquarters Library provides access to resources and services in the City of Gainesville and surrounding areas. It also serves as the headquarters of Alachua County Library District.
