Basic Reading Practice for Everyone
Thursday, July 16
12:30pm - 1:30pm
Headquarters Library
Foundation RoomThis group is based around reading basic English texts in a group. We also learn new vocabulary words, practice phonetics, grammar and pronunciation.
This group has no strict format or target audience. We spend the first half of the group practicing some new vocabulary, new grammatical concepts along with pronunciation. We work on decoding complex words by breaking them down. The second half is devoted to reading a basic text selected to be challenging but not too hard. There is a book discussion component where we talk about authors that might interest new readers. All are welcome. Children and teenagers may also attend and participate in the company of their guardians.
