Big Kid Book Club
Thursday, December 10
3:00pm - 4:00pm
Hawthorne Branch
MakerSpaceAt this unique book club, kids can share about a book of their choice and participate in fun storytelling activities.
Kids are invited to bring a book of their choice to Big Kid Book Club each month to share about. They can pick any book, but if they need help choosing, we have a theme each month. December's theme is "snow." We begin each club meeting with an icebreaker, a game, or another activity. Then we share about and discuss our chosen books with the group. After we're done with our discussion, we do a storytelling activity to imagine and bring stories to life. These activities involve various ways of imagining, creating, telling, and re-telling. Big Kid Book Club is all about exploring narratives and non-fiction, sharing stories and information, creating new narratives, and representing stories in new forms.
