The Alachua County Health Promotion and Wellness Coalition is partnering with the Alachua County Sheriff's Office to host a National DEA Drug Take Back Day Event on Saturday, October 26th.
We are hosting four drop-off sites in Gainesville, Micanopy, Alachua and Archer from 10:00am - 2:00pm. The purpose of the event is to allow community members to safely and anonymously dispose of expired or unused prescription medications. There will be an ASO deputy on site at all times and we will accept all medications except sharps (ex/needles) and aerosol cans/inhalers. Please visit our Facebook page for more information!
The Library Partnership: A Neighborhood Resource Center, is a collaborative effort between the Alachua County Library District, Partnership for Strong Families, Department of Children and Families, and United Way of Central Florida. The center is designed as a one-stop resource for a variety of programs which included a full-service library branch. Approximately 30 different agencies provide programing on site.
