Want to get your child started learning a second language? Try Curious Chinese, a class designed for young children to begin learning the basics of the Chinese language.

Have you heard of the many academic, cognitive, and cultural benefits kids receive when they learn a second language? The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages website lists many individual benefits for you to check out and each one links to a specific study that provided those results. Younger children are especially receptive to learning second languages.

Want to get your child started learning a second language? Try Curious Chinese, a class designed for young children to begin learning the basics of the Chinese language. Not only is a second language a valuable skill, Chinese is the most spoken language in the world according to Infoplease.

Curious Chinese class will be taught by Instructor Guilian, a native Chinese speaker, using a well reviewed curriculum. Guilian has two sons of her own and has experience teaching at the HuaGen Chinese school, in addition to her work as a scientist (Ph.D in Neuropathy and Physiology) at the University of Florida. She is looking forward to introducing children to a new language. Parents can attend this class with their children ages 3-10 on Sundays from 4-5 pm at the Tower Road library.

As always, this is a free program offered to the public.
