Join us for an out of this world scavenger hunt!
Teens, tweens, and aspiring astronomers: join the Alachua Branch Library all summer long as we explore the universe.
Stop by each week to pick up an "I Spy Astronomy" flashcard. Test your astronomy knowledge. Can you solve the riddle? Each flashcard will provide a clue to a constellation that can be seen during the summer months.
Example: "My constellation can be found in the Northern Sky. I'm named after a vain Queen in Greek mythology. My constellation is formed by 5 distinct stars in the shape of a W. I am directly opposite of the Big Dipper. Can you find my constellation? Who am I?"
Answer: Cassiopeia
If you're stumped and don't know the answer you can flip your flashcard and scratch off the back. It will reveal a constellation map and the answer. Supplies are limited, one flashcard per family.
Be sure to check-out the astronomy themed display and resources provided by Kika Silva Pla Planetarium when you pick up your flashcard!
The flashcards can be located at the astronomy display by the front entrance of the Alachua Branch Library.
