Learn about invasive plants, how to identify them, and how the impact the environment.
Can you recognize the invasive plants that are growing in your neighborhood? How can you get rid of these plant invaders in your home landscape? What is the city doing to control them in our nature parks? Join Marc Frank (Extension Botanist, University of Florida Herbarium), Stephen Enloe (Invasive Plant Extension Specialist, UF/IFAS Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants), and Nicole Barbieri (Habitat Naturalist, City of Gainesville) to learn more about invasive plants in Northern Florida. Nicole and Marc will have samples of some of the more common invasive plant species in our area and will be on hand to review identifying characteristics before the program.
The Headquarters Library provides access to resources and services in the City of Gainesville and surrounding areas. It also serves as the headquarters of Alachua County Library District.
