Young children can practice their literacy skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog on the second Thursday of each month.
On the second Thursday of each month, a therapy dog will visit the library to listen to kids read. Young children of reading age can practice their reading skills in a calm, relaxed environment and grow their abilities. If your child struggles with reading in an academic setting, this friendly and supportive setting may improve their interest and confidence.
Please arrive no later than 3:30 to participate. Registration for this program is optional.
IMPORTANT: This activity involves interaction with a dog. Anyone who is allergic to dogs or uncomfortable around them should not attend.
