Join us every Friday at 11 a.m. in June and July for art and craft projects just for adults.
This week's project is our monthly Artist Trading Cards, which takes place on the 4th Friday of the month. Decorate small cards using many mediums and various techniques and then share, swap, or keep. We will provide the materials, you bring your creativity.
The artist trading card is said to have been born in 1997 in Switzerland when M. Vänçi Stirnemann of Zurich hosted the first swap. Since then this small art form has grown very large in popularity and many artists and crafters are embracing the concept. Each ATC should be exactly 3.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide. This is the same size as a standard trading card such as a baseball card and many playing cards. The ATC can be created in any medium and with any techniques that the artist wishes to use. Then you trade the card with other artists so you get a collection of different works of art.
