Representatives from Keep Alachua County Beautiful and the Urban Forestry Division will teach participants how to properly plant trees in our area.
Keep Alachua County Beautiful and the City of Gainesville Urban Forestry Division will team up for a one-hour presentation on how to properly plant trees. There will be an indoor presentation, as well as an outdoor demonstration.
Each participant will have the opportunity to take home a free tree after the planting demonstration.
The City of Gainesville’s Urban Forestry Division promotes the benefits of trees, maintains our urban forest to ensure diversity of age and species, mitigates canopy loss, minimizes hazards; and conserves the high-quality heritage trees that make Gainesville a Tree City of the World!
Beginning in 1983, Gainesville received the Tree City USA designation because of the combined efforts of the City Beautification Board (CBB), the Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) and the Florida Division of Forestry. This is Gainesville's 37th year as a Tree City USA and the first as a Tree City of the World!
The Headquarters Library provides access to resources and services in the City of Gainesville and surrounding areas. It also serves as the headquarters of Alachua County Library District.
